Privacy by Design & Offline Architecture

Skanzo ("the Application", "we", "us", or "our") was engineered from the ground up to respect commercial confidentiality. Shopkeepers, inventory managers, and logistics operators process sensitive pricing and stock count data every day.

Unlike cloud-dependent SaaS platforms, Skanzo does not communicate with external servers during regular operation. Your stock data, unit prices, product reference codes, and financial totals remain 100% stored on your local device hardware.

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be completely clear, Skanzo does NOT collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any of the following categories of data:

• Personal Identifiers: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, device serial numbers, IP addresses, or Apple/Google Account IDs.

• Commercial Inventory Data: Product names, scanned barcode values (EAN, UPC, QR codes), stock counts, unit prices, total stock values, or signature images on PDF reports.

• Location & Device Telemetry: GPS position, Wi-Fi networks, usage heatmaps, or diagnostic crash reports.

• Biometric Data: Face ID / Touch ID authentication is managed exclusively by your device operating system.

Device Permissions Explained

Skanzo requests minimal system permissions solely to deliver core camera scanning and document generation features. Here is how each permission is used:

Camera Permission (NSCameraUsageDescription)

Purpose: Used exclusively to scan 1D (EAN-13, EAN-8, Code 128, Code 39) and 2D (QR Code) barcodes in real time. Video frames are processed locally in real-time RAM memory by the camera engine and are immediately discarded. No photos or video recordings are saved to storage or transmitted over the internet.

Photo Library Access (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription)

Purpose: Optional permission requested only when you choose to upload a custom company logo from your photo library to display on printed/exported PDF inventory reports. The selected image is stored locally in the app's internal sandbox directory and never uploaded.

In-App Purchases & Financial Transactions

Skanzo offers a one-time lifetime Pro upgrade (€29.99 reference tier excluding tax, converted to your regional store currency, with applicable local taxes such as VAT added at checkout) processed securely through Apple App Store (In-App Purchase) or Google Play Store (Google Play Billing).

All payment processing, local currency calculation, receipt validation, and lifetime purchase restoration are managed directly by Apple or Google. We do not receive, store, or process your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank account details. We only receive an anonymous digital token confirming purchase status.

Section 05

Document Cryptography & Local Storage

All session data, SQLite databases, and user preferences are written into the operating system sandbox dedicated exclusively to Skanzo.

When you generate an official PDF inventory report, the Application creates a local SHA-256 cryptographic verification hash and embeds a verification QR code onto the PDF page. This cryptographic verification process runs entirely on your device hardware without contacting any remote server.

Section 06

Children's Privacy

Skanzo is a professional business utility designed for commercial inventory management. It does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The app complies fully with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR guidelines.

Section 07

Data Retention & Deletion

You have 100% control over your data at all times. You can delete individual counting sessions, clear product catalogs, or erase all app data at any time from within the app settings.

Deleting or uninstalling the Skanzo application from your device permanently erases all local database files, PDF caches, and saved settings. Because we do not hold cloud backups, data deleted from the device cannot be recovered by us.
